Written History Project
We are commissioning a comprehensive written history of the court and its history, to be presented in a readable book. We expect the focus of this first written history published by the Society will begin in the 1950's, when several judges joined the predecessor courts (the Court of Customs and Patent Appeals, and the Court of Claims), and continue through the tenure of Chief Judge Markey, which ended in 1990. Our plan is to seek out and retain a well-qualified historian to undertake this work over a several year period. This project is being supported in part by various law firms interested in the work of the Society.
